Who doesn’t love a bit of Ponyo? The 2008 animated classic about a little goldfish who wants to become human has inspired the craft world to create a plethora of Ponyo patterns and tutorials.
I’ve gathered together three of the best free Ponyo patterns so you can take your very own Japanese princess wherever you go. Continue reading
I’m not best known for my love of cats, in fact, I’ve held a vehement dislike for them most of my life. I was most surprised with myself when I realised I’ve come to love Internet sensation Grumpy Cat (a.k.a. Tardar Sauce). We’ve shared many a meme of the mardy moggy at work, and one unfortunate member of the team is now known affectionately as ‘GC’.
I love making things from Hama beads (Perler), especially mug coasters. They don’t take long, make great gifts and you can replicate almost anything!
Did a quick Hama coaster to use at work in honour of the retro classic Space Invaders. I remember playing this game on my Dads Atari 2600 circa 1982, my brother and I even took the Atari to the school spring fayre and charged 5p a go to play Pong! We were cool for weeks 🙂
We also used to play a game called Boot Hill on the Atari, an early time-based shoot ’em up for 1 or 2 players whilst over the road my friend Mark had the pleasure of playing his Spectrum 48k to himself. I gave my 7mth old daughter a little taste of Gunfight (1975, Atari, similar concept) on YouTube this morning as I couldn’t find a Boot Hill clip and she thought it was AMAZING! But there again, she also loves eating the remote…
Managed to spare five minutes to make this Super Mario power-up mushroom coaster for Ashley. I’ve just ordered some mini hama beads so I can make myself an Aeris Gainsborough coaster as I currently only have midi beads here at the moment, there was a few Royal Mail tickets waiting for me when I got home from work today so hopefully one of those is for the beads. I’m also going to be making some retro gaming pixel hair accessories and maybe a few bits of pixel jewellery once I find a good supplier of coloured ball chain 🙂
